Residents of Kyaterekera Town Council have pledged their full support for Janepher Kyomuhendo Mababazi, the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Kagadi District, as she seeks re-election in the 2026 general elections.
Mbabazi is running on an independent ticket after losing the NRM party flag to Margaret Nazziwa.
The commitment came during Mbabazi’s mobilisation tour in Kyaterekera, where she highlighted her achievements in office and residents expressed confidence in her leadership.
Mbabazi outlined key accomplishments during her tenure, including improvements in local roads, advocacy in the health sector, expansion of water access, support for women’s groups, scholarships for vulnerable children, and funding initiatives for boda boda riders.
Addressing the electorate, Mbabazi urged residents to entrust her with another term, promising to continue driving service delivery and development projects across the district.
“When Kagadi was created in 2016, I contested the by-election. Since 2021, I have been serving fully in parliament, building networks with organisations to bring more development to our district. I only ask for your trust again,” she said.
Mbabazi will face Margaret Nazziwa, the NRM flag bearer, in the upcoming polls. She expressed confidence that voters will respond to her message, asserting that her focus remains on constituency development and service delivery rather than party affiliation.
The tour in Kyaterekera reaffirmed strong grassroots support for Mbabazi, reflecting her commitment to constituents and her track record in delivering tangible development outcomes.
